I do NOT regret airing my dirty laundry!

I was honestly unprepared for all of the feedback that I received from yesterday's post. I spent most of my day responding to emails, tweets, and facebook comments regarding my "confession" and my admission of guilt. To say that I was deeply moved doesn't even scratch the surface of the range of emotion that I experienced. Eventually, I was forced to swallow my "WESTSIDE" pride and allow a couple of tears to escape my rusty tear ducts. EVERY comment was positive and I'm appreciative to all who took time to read my blog.

As I begin to actually internalize the response, a reoccurring theme emerged. I started hearing words like bravery and courage echoing throughout the sentiments. Despite my gratitude, those words didn't quite fit the guy they were aimed at in this instance. I do consider myself brave and courageous in the face of danger. However, a detailed confession and admission of guilt to the entire world surrounding my sorted life required no bravery since there was nothing to fear. I'm not ashamed of anything I've ever done. If you really want to know the truth: NOTHING I said about my past yesterday ever took place. As a matter of fact, I have NEVER done anything wrong!

You see, there is a legal term in our society called Double Jeopardy. It simply forbids a defendant from being tried again on the same, or similar charges following a legitimate acquittal or conviction. Once anyone has been found guilty or not guilty of a crime and set free he can make a full confession but never be punished further for his offense. This law is what prompted my confession yesterday. My attorney informed me that there was another defendant that would be tried along with me on the same charges and that he made a full confession which prompted the judge to find him guilty and would consequently set me free! Though he had actually never committed ONE crime, he took all of my wrongs, guilt, shame, and punishment and allowed me to have his life instead (2 Corinthians 5:21). Whatever I tell people now about my sins doesn't matter because there is nothing that can be done. I was ACQUITTED (John 8:36)! Legally, there is no record of my crimes and I can say I never did it because someone else confessed to it all. He literally saved my life! So, as far as I'm concerned, there is NO OTHER name given to humanity by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12)!

Today, ANTicipate Jesus! He's definitely ANTicipating a visit from you! (cue the Hammond B3) lol
